BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 7 RULING DAME ($4.20)
Ascot trainer Daniel Morton found plenty of improvement in the second-up run with his mare RULING DAME. She was perhaps a little stiff to be beaten as she ran second to the form horse Flash Max. She jumped beautifully to find a spot in the off pace position before her rider Clint Johnston-Porter had to take hold to avoid the heels of the horse in front. Ruling Dame over raced as a consequence of becoming shuffled back to worse than midfield. CJP worked his way into the clear by following the winner into the straight. Flash Max had stolen a march with the margin being too great as the line neared. Ruling Dame went down by half a length over the 1300 metres with the third horse Wango Award only narrowly beaten by Bread To Flirt at her next start.

Race 6 No. 6 CALIFORNICATION ($3.55)
We had backed Planet Cash at Belmont Park Racecourse with some degree of confidence after writing his name into the #WABlackbookers file a week prior. Clint Johnson-Porter settled CALIFORNICATION towards the back of midfield while looking for room to move from their inside draw. The pair did manage to find clear galloping room just in time to see Planet Cash race past the field with full momentum up the middle. Californication was only able to get warm inside the 100m and came on the finish amongst the placings. We wrote his name straight into the #WABlackbookers file following that run with trainer Paul Rowe sending him to the paddock. Resumed with an easy kill over 1300 metres at Kalgoorlie and is sure to be well supported under Lisa Staples on Saturday.

Race 1 No. 1 PADDY’S FLYIN’ ($3.30)
Madi Derrick takes the ride aboard PADDY’S FLYIN’ who did exactly that at Belmont Racecourse last weekend. Senior rider Joseph Azzopardi settled the horse towards the tail of the small field before rounding them up to score over this trip. The pace was on with Ruler Rocket in the field and neither he, nor Platinum Class could match the winning burst of Paddy’s Flyin’ late. This followed another good win from Paddy’s Flyin’ over the same trip at Pinjarra when resuming. There had been good race strength going into those races and the claim of Derrick ensures that Paddy’s Flyin’ gets in well again on Saturday.
