BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 3 FINAL AUTHORITY – ($4.60)
Chris & Michael Gangemi have removed the brow band off of FINAL AUTHORITY who can land in a beautiful position behind the speed at Belmont racecourse on Wednesday. The horse didn’t show any early speed when racing first-up at Ascot. The winner Magnalee had it easy outside of the leader Bisector before getting over that horse in the shadows of the line. Final Authority was the horse hitting the line out wider to split the pair into second place. The brow band hasn’t seemed to have helped Final Authority with his sometimes slow beginnings; we’ll put our money on and hope the horse gets away cleanly tomorrow.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 2 STARCHIENNE – ($4.80)
We chose to watch STARCHIENNE when racing first-up over 1200 metres here at Belmont Racecourse, instead choosing to side with Bigdayonit at his third run back. While our selection for the race knocked-up in a disappointing performance, Starchienne rounded them up from the back to record a decisive victory. To add salt to the wounds, Bigdayonit atoned to win a fast-run 1200 metre race at Ascot on Saturday. Starchienne came into that race unsighted at the trials and we have always been of the opinion that she is better suited over this track and trip.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3 No. 8 BLAZING EMERALD – ($4.40)
We’ll attempt to stay on the button rather than look for a roughie value bet at Belmont Racecourse on Wednesday. That horse could possibly be Crystal Rose in Race 4 going off her effort two starts back. She led at a fast tempo in a high-pressure 1500 metre race at Ascot before succumbing to the finishing burst of BLAZING EMERALD. The latter surprised to settle much closer to the speed under Chris Parnham with Blazing Emerald showing her class in a tight finish. While Crystal Rose did not exactly go on with it (running second again without the same level of pressure), Dan Morton sent Blazing Emerald to town. She got back as the field ran quickly through the early part over 1400 metres. Blazing Emerald rattled off a fast last 600m to just miss with a midweek race over the mile seemingly ideal.
