Race 3 No. 4 VILLENEUVE- ($3.10)

VILLENEUVE can go close in Race 3 at Benalla. The Gavin Bedggood-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and never saw daylight first up at Pakenham before heading to Sandown on March 22 and finishing 4th over the 1500m behind Simeon. He was a tad keen early on and posted back and four deep before sticking on. This looks easier and the son of Vancouver draws better, while the winkers go on.

Race 7 No.4 YOWIE- ($3.40)

This looks a suitable assignment for YOWIE at her first run back from a spell. The Maher/Eustace galloper hasn’t done much since winning on debut but has been racing in harder company than this. At the first run of her last preparation, the three-year-old was 5th in a BenchMark 70 at Moonee Valley behind Fission over the 1000m before finishing 12th at Flemington at Group 3 level on Cup day, beaten five lengths. Market might be the best guide before the jump but this does look well within her grasp.
