Race 2 No. 10 SKYWRITER ($2.50) 

This might be the one for SKYWRITER to chalk up her first career win. The Chris Waller-trained galloper has had six starts and has never finished further back than 4th, while she has finished runner-up on four occasions. She narrowly went down at Mornington when resuming and should take improvement off that run. The daughter of Written Tycoon draws perfectly in barrier 4.

Race 4 No. 2 LAST RAIDER ($3.55) 

We stretch out over the Bendigo Cup distance of 2400m and LAST RAIDER can get the job done. He enjoyed the step up to the 2400m at Geelong at what was just his third career start, placing 3rd behind Farah. The son of the Victoria Derby winner, Rebel Raider, was stepping up from the 1700m in that race and ran on from well back. He has the fitness to go a couple of spots better this time around.

Race 3 No.6 FOLLOWING SEA ($7.60) 

FOLLOWING SEA should find this easier than recent runs. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper has had the two career starts and was outclassed last year on debut behind Mollynickers before resuming with a 4th at Sandown on January 17 behind Yahoo Bar. He led them up that day and was keen early on before fading late in the piece. Blinkers go off and the son of Toronado has attracted support in the early betting.
