Bordertown Tips 28/10/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 1 GUSTY WAY – ($4.80 )

The Jason and Sue Jaensch stable have GUSTY WAY set for a first-up tilt at Bordertown Racecourse on Sunday. The horse was an impressive winner on debut when putting himself onto the speed after being slightly slow out. Gusty Way came right out to the middle part of the Murray Bridge straight to hold on and score over Clarence in their 1200m maiden. Began well when drawn off the track over 1100m at Morphettville Racecourse second-up. Harry Grace was forced to trek wide the entire on Gusty Way as the pair again came out to the middle part of the track. Gusty Way continued to box on doggedly despite being overhauled late. Should appreciate the drop in grade while drawn to put himself onto the speed again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 1 BIG OPTION – ($2.90)

James & Lisa Dodgson have found some form with home track specialist BIG OPTION. They keep top hoop Jarrod Lorensini on the horse following the pair’s tough on-speed win over 1200m at Horsham last start. Lorensini was also aboard when Big Option led throughout before going on for a big win over 1100m on this track back in August. Kayla Crowther had also driven Big Option home for another comfortable win in town since. Big Option is drawn to put himself into the contest early once again, and Lorensini will ensure that he gets hauling before the pressure comes on with that extra weight.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6 No. 9 GOGOLF GURU – ($15)

We expect the punters to be getting the cash at Bordertown for most of the card at Racecourse on Sunday. Our customary search for a roughie sees us land on GOGOLF GURU in one of the bigger fields for the day. Sophie Logan cut the corner to save ground as she got on a long searching run from the back at Gawler. Sir Kingsford had put the race to bed by the top of the straight while staying out to the middle part of the track. Gogolf Guru kept coming to run second behind the subsequent city winner while leaving a gap back to the others. Not suited by the track pattern at Balaklava with her most recent run and Gogolf Guru can be making her presence felt late on Sunday.
