BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.5 TABEI
The Natalie Jarvis-trained TABEI has her second race start today and looks set to go one better here. Last start, the Frosted filly came off a trial win (on this track) and made her debut at Nowra where she finished second in a 1200m Maiden. Slowly away, she made up the ground in running and although tending to hang in the run home, finished strongly enough to grab second prize. Louise Day stuck with her after that Canberra trial win and remains the pilot for this assignment. She can only strip fitter today and now with the racing experience behind her as well, she can break through here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.3 ONEFORIAN
Nick Olive saddles-up ONEFORIAN here who is second-up today and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding resumed off a 17-week spell when he beat all but one home in a BM58 over 1208m at the Sapphire Coast. With Billy Owen aboard, he came from mid-field to grab second prize after working his way through traffic. Owen rode him to his maiden win at Gundagai three starts back and keeps the job for today’s assignment. The extra distance looks ideal today as he does no early work from gate two. Yet to miss a podium finish in three starts to date, he should be giving this event a real shake.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.9 BON FRANKIE
The Aaron Clarke-trained BON FRANKIE is high-flying this time in and with city class experience on his resume, he can certainly make himself a nuisance in this contest today. Last start, the Bon Hoffa gelding made it five-straight podium finishes when he took home third prize from a Class 5 set weights event over 1400m at Goulburn. Richard Bensley has steered the gelding around the traps on eight occasions and sticks with him today. The five-year-old took out a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1400m at Rosehill four starts back and has remained a model of consistency since. His biggest hurdle here in the outside gate (13) but if he can overcome that, he should be there at the finish today.
