BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.10 LETHAL LADY ($4.65 with BoomBet)
Local trainer, Norm Gardner, saddles-up LETHAL LADY here who returned to the scene in winning form and second-up today looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the Smart Missile filly resumed from a 14-week spell and hit the ground running as she took out a BM60 Hcp over 1080m with her first look at the synthetic track. With Brendan Ward aboard for the first time, she box-seated to the turn, then pulled out and finished best to take home first prize. She steps-up in grade today but has drawn gate two again which sees her box-seating again with Ward remaining aboard for this assignment. Fitter for that first-up win, she looks the testing material here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1: No.2 SAIKO ($3.60 with Bet Right)
The Nick Olive-trained SAIKO is second-up today and down in grade, looks a big chance for victory here. Last start, the Maurice gelding was fresh off a 17-week spell when clearly in need of the run, finished mid-field in a BM66 Hcp over 1000m at Corowa. Already a winner when second-up, he draws well in gate three today and maps to be close to the speed on settling. Quayde Krogh has the reins for today’s assignment and with a clear run to the line, he can give this contest a real fright.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 3: No.3 ASTUNNER ($10 with bet365)
Locally-trained by Gratz Vella, ASTUNNER is second-up today and fitter for one run back, is well placed here to make his presence felt at good odds. Last start, the Xtravagant gelding came off a 16-week break when he finished mid-field in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at Goulburn. Quayde Krogh steered him to his maiden victory on debut at Nowra and returns here for the three-year-old’s fourth race start. Ideally drawn in gate two today, he maps to settle just behind the pace and with a trouble-free run, he can give this a real shake. He looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
