Cranbourne Tips 21/4/2023
BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)
Race 2 No. 1 CONNECTICUT- ($2.90)
Not a bad return at all by CONNECTICUT at Pakenham on March 23 over the 1400m. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper was put away after a mediocre debut effort on Heavy going last year at Sandown but did well on resumption, settling handy and sticking on for 3rd behind El Soleado at Pakenham. Form out of that race has been red-hot with four winners coming out of it and the son of Written Tycoon comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner. John Allen rides is four from 15 for the stable, providing a 38% profit on turnover for punters.
NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)
Race 6 No 1 NARVAEZ- ($4.60)
NARVAEZ should find this easier than recent runs. The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper drops down from a BenchMark 70 at Sandown on March 29 and worked hard to lead from the wide barrier in the early stages before knocking up late when 9th behind Altivo. He is capable of improvement and draws better than recent runs, while the son of Vancouver does come in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner. Jordan Childs rides and strikes at a very healthy 29% for the stable, providing a 48% profit on turnover.
BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)
Race 8 No.12 TRUST IN ROSIE- ($34)
TRUST IN ROSIE might be worth ably at a bit of a price in Race 8. The Luke Oliver-trained galloper has mixed her form in her career but her personal best came when fresh at the track and trip at her last preparation. That run yielded an impressive win on Heavy going with the daughter of Trust In A Gust going 0.8 lengths faster than standard. Market might be the best guide prior to the jump but if she can repeat that performance, she can go close from barrier 3 with Jamie Mott to ride.
