The Robert Heathcote-trained OUTLAWED is in career-best form and looks set to bring up the hat-trick here. Last start, the Foxwedge mare made it two on the trot when she clobbered her opposition in a Class 1 Pate, here over the 1000m sprint, putting almost three lengths on them over the line. Ben Thompson is two from two in saddle and sticks with her in this contest. Ideally drawn in gate three and already a track and distance winner, she looks the testing material here.

Race 2: No.4 NIKAU SPUR ($4.05 with BoomBet)
The Team Gearan-trained NIKAU SPUR has strung four-straight podium finishes together now and looks well placed here to add another one to the count. Last start, it was career-win number six for the Proisir gelding when he finished best to take out a BM90 Hcp, here over 2020m. That was win number two for Mark Du Plessis who has the reins again for this assignment. He steps up a little in distance here but he is in great touch of late and looks a real chance in this field.

Chris Waller saddles-up SHIBLI here who is second-up off a ninth-month break and looks well up to this contest. Last start, the British-sired gelding was fresh off two trials and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a Class 6 Plate, here over 1350m. He came from last on the turn to pass half the field and was beaten just two lengths on the line. James Orman is the pilot for this assignment and already a winner when second-up, and a two-time winner over the mile, he looks a serious player here and at good odds in this line-up.
