BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.1 GHOSTWRITER ($2.70 with Palmerbet)
The Annabel Neasham-trained GHOSTWRITER is in sensational form this time in and looks the pick of the crop here today. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding came off consecutive runner-up finishes when he went one better and beat home a Class 5 field, here over the mile trip. He covered the distance, 1.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. He was sent out a white-hot $1.40 favourite that day and despite doing a few things wrong, still proved too good for that field on the day. He drops in grade today and is reunited with Brodie Poy who boasts six podium finishes from nine previous rides on the four-year-old. Yet to miss a top-two finish after six starts at the track, he will again take beating today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.2 KUREDER ($2.70 with TAB)
The Chris Waller-trained KUREDER has found his mojo and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, it was third time lucky for the Ocean Park gelding as he broke through for his maiden win, here over 1650m. On a Soft 6 that day, he ran his last 600m, 3.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Waller keeps him at the same trip today with Ryan Maloney keeping the ride as well. He draws well here and maps to settle in the first half-dozen, possibly box-seating. Even fitter after three runs in, he looks the real McCoy and should prove hard to beat here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.6 GROOVIN’ THE MOO ($12 with TAB)
Ipswich galloper GROOVIN’ THE MOO is second-up here and looks poised to remain unbeaten at the track today. Last start, the Whittington gelding was fresh off a 15-week spell when he did enough to take out a Class 1 Hcp, here over the 1050m sprint. With Georgina Cartwright aboard that day, he was sent out a $26 chance and nosed out the white-hot ($1.50) favourite (Nashira) to claim victory on the line. Nashira has since went on to win a BM68 at Eagle Farm last week. Cartwright has the reins again today and unbeaten here in two starts, the five-year-old looks a genuine each-way chance in this contest.
