Race 5:  No.1  TOO HARD TO REFUSE  ($2.90 with bet365)

Another from the Desleigh Forster stable is TOO HARD TO REFUSE who resumes from a nine-week let-up here and has the stats to suggest he is a real winning prospect in this event. Last start, the Heroic Valour gelding didn’t handle the rise in trip when he finished down the track in a BM65 Hcp over the 1600m journey at the Sunshine Coast. He has since won a trial in Class 3 company at Doomben. Already a winner when first-up and placed twice in two previous runs here, he looks a real threat to this field today.

Race 4:  No.4  PRIVATE BANKER  ($3.90 with Ladbrokes)

The Desleigh Forster-trained PRIVATE BANKER is second-up today and sporting a gear change, looks in the mix here. Last start, the Capitalist gelding resumed off a 15-week break when he finished mid-field (beaten three lengths) in a Class 2 Hcp over the mile at Ipswich. The stable put the blinkers back on today with Damien Thornton retaining the ride for today’s assignment. He sees the Gatton track for the first time today, and fitter for that first-up run, he should give this contest a real shake.

Race 6:  No.4  POCKETROCKET  ($8 with Neds)

The Greg Cornish-trained POCKETROCKET has an impressive record on this track and now four starts into this preparation, should be ready to deliver today. Last start, the Easy Rocking gelding was fourth-up when he arrived a second too late, finishing second in a BM55 Hcp, here over 1100m. He drew wide that day (10 of 11) and after missing the jump by two lengths, sat back in the field. Once clear, he ran home strongly, only to be beaten a nose on the line. Drawn much better today in gate three, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover and securing a trouble-free run here, he looks in the mix at odds.
