Race 3 No. 12 NICISH – ($4.80) 

Lachlan Neindorf Gets aboard NICISH for the Phillip Stokes yard at Gawler Racecourse on Wednesday. The filly has shown versatility in being able to be ridden forward or back in her races. She did get back first-up over 1000m on the Parks track where they ran even time throughout for the maiden. The first three horses in running were the first three horses across the line with Nicish getting home for fourth. The runner-up Pure Bliss has since proven the form when leading all the way in another Saturday grade maiden at Oakbank. Neindorf will be looking for some cover early off their wide draw on Wednesday as the field strings out with a bit more pace in this race on Wednesday.

Race 5 No. 4 BASE OF FIRE – ($4) 

There does not appear to be a great deal of pressure in the race with Ivy Lam rolling along in front on BASE OF FIRE. The Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle apprentice brings an important 3kg claim for Base Of Fire in a field which is mostly compressed at the weights. Most of these horses are racing consistently around the placings without being able to land a win on the board. Base Of Fire found himself in an awkward position when coming back from a let-up over 1100m at Clare. Closed out the race late to finish just behind the placegetters before rolling forward over this trip at Murray Bridge. Base Of Fire proved to be no match for #SABlackbookers horse Zero Inn when running second that day while leaving a big space back to the third horse.

Race 1 No. 3 DOUBLE YOU OWE – ($9.50)

DOUBLE YOU OWE has been honest over the sprint trips before trainer Grant Young got him out to 1350m at Strathalbyn. Double You Owe was only fairly into stride with Sam Payne having plenty of horse under him while avoiding the heels of those in front. Double You Owe was strong enough to the line to out-muscle a group of horses for second with Nisko Tu having already opened a winning break. We were immensely keen about the chances of Double You Owe going to 1400m at Murray Bridge last week. The horse became a late scratching under vets advice, and we are going to follow him to Gawler in the hopes that Payne can find his way in from an outside gate.
