BEST BET 🏆   

Race 1 No. 7 SIGNOR BILL- ($2.40) 

There are a couple of unknowns in this race with some first starters but I am willing to back SIGNOR BILL at his second career start. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper made his debut at Sandown on March 27 over the 1300m and settled back in the field of five before the race developed into a sit-sprint. He knuckled down well in the straight but was out-kicked late by Epimeles. The son of Saxon Warrior should benefit from that hitout and draws ideally in barrier 3 with Billy Egan to ride.

Race 4 No.13 THUNDER HAWK- ($3.05) 

THUNDER HAWK can be an improver in Race 4. The Mike Moroney filly has had just the two career starts for a narrow runner-up on debut back in November 2023 over the 1462m. She resumed at Sandown on March 20 and was back in the small field before working into it with the fastest 400m-200m split, only to peak late and run 5th behind The Shaper. This looks an easier Maiden and the daughter of American Pharaoh will strip fitter, while the slight step up in trip should suit.

Race 8 No. 7 LADY PROISIR – ($6.25) 

LADY PROISIR might be worth a play in the final event of the day at Geelong. The new addition to the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable has had the one run since switching over, placing 5th at Ballarat in this grade over the 1200m on March 24. She closed off well in that race, producing the fastest last 200m to land just over two lengths away. The five-year-old will strip fitter for this race and should be strong late in the piece.
