Race 1 No. 10 LUIJZIKA ($2.40) 

LUIJZIKA should be hard to beat in the opener at Geelong. The Maher/Eustace filly made her debut at Seymour on January 3 and cleared out with Maisy, narrowly going down to that horse, while there was a five length gap back to the rest. The daughter of Snitzel came home in 22.84 over the last 400m to go 2.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is more than three lengths better than what any horse in this race has produced. 

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 2 No. 1 BALABUSHKA ($6) 

BALABUSHKA can be an improver in Race 2. The Jamie Edwards-trained galloper led at a hectic tempo here two starts ago before running 4th then headed to Sandown and battling into 10th behind Warmosa. She was her own worst enemy in that race, overracing before dropping out of it. This looks easier and she just needs to settle better in the run this time around.
