Race 8:  No.6  KHUMBILA 

The Rosehill based KHUMBILA is in top-shelf form this preparation boasting three podium finishes from as many starts and looks poised to go on with it today. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding broke through for his maiden win when he put almost two lengths on the 11-strong field, here over 1300m. With Rory Hutchings on board for the first time, he led on settling and in the run home, found something more and was never threatened. Hutchings remains the pilot for this contest and from gate three should have little trouble finding a forward position again. At his peak today, he looks the one to beat in this contest.

Race 6:  No.5  BROADWAY BOUNCER 

Wyong trainer, Kristen Buchanan saddles-up BROADWAY BOUNCER here who boasts a strong record at the track and after three starts back, looks ready to pounce today. Last start, the Kermadec gelding was third-up when he found some form and beat all but one home in a BM64, here over 1100m with Anna Roper in the saddle. He settled worse than mid-field that day but ran home strongly to finish within a neck of victory. He meets similar company here over the same trip and has Roper steering the ship again. At his peak today, a clear run to the line should see him hard to hold out.

Race 5:  No.3  VINCENZO  

The Scott Singleton-trained VINCENZO is second-up today and with conditions to suit, looks in the mix for victory in this contest. Last start, the Real Impact gelding came off a six-month lay-off and stepped-out for his first run in a new stable where he caught the eye, finishing third in a BM68 over the mile at Wyong. Mikayla Weir was aboard for the first time that day as the five-year-old came from back in the field to grab the minor prize on fresh legs. While his second-up record isn’t flash, Singleton has him firing now and the step up in distance today looks ideal. Weir sticks with him and a forward showing will not surprise.
