Race 10:  No.4  PATCH OF THETA

The Francis Lui-trained PATCH OF THETA is yet to miss a podium finish after seven career-starts to date and looks set to continue that trend today. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was in line for a hat-trick of wins when he had to settle for third prize in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m with Hugh Bowman aboard. He meets similar company today with Bowman steering the ship again. All seven starts have been on the Sha Tin track and with a trouble-free run today, he looks set put in another bold performance here.

Race 7:  No.8  VOYAGE SAMURAI

The Frankie Lor-trained VOYAGE SAMURAI is off to a flying start in his career and only has to overcome the wide draw here to be considered a major threat to this field today. Last start, the Dissident galloper came off a solid Class4 win when he stepped-up to Class 3 company for the first time and did well to beat all but one home, here over the mile trip. Derek Leung has been on board for all four career-starts and is in the saddle again for this assignment. He has drawn the outside gate (14) today but does have good early gate speed which should see him cross and settle better than mid-field. At his peak after four starts to date, he will be running on at the finish today.

Race 9:  No.5  SUPER JOY N FUN

Benno Yung saddles-up SUPER JOY N FUN here who is second-up today and looks a solid chance at victory in this contest. Last start, the NZ sired gelding was shooting for the hat-trick as he resumed off a 10-week spell and did well to beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Happy Valley with Zac Purton aboard. Today is his first look at the Sha Tin track as he is reunited with Jerry Chau who is two from two with the three-year-old. Already a winner when second-up and ideally drawn in gate four today, he looks right in the mix and will surely give this a real shake.
