Kilmore Tips 10/3/2023

Race 5 No. 1  PAINT ME RED- ($2.70)

PAINT ME RED can chalk up another win in Race 5. The Brett Scott-trained galloper has not scored since winning in this grade at Mornington last year. He was tried in harder company and came close last time at Kilmore in a 0-64 race, leading all the way before going down in the shadows behind Helmiton. The six-year-old has gone faster than standard at his past two, which is better than what his rivals have been dishing up. He has finished top three in all three runs at the track and trip, winning one, while the 2kg claim for Matt Chadwick gets his down to a winnable weight. He is two from eight for the stable, providing an 84% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 2 No. 7  WALTER SPUR – ($4)

WALTER SPUR gets his chance in Race 2. The Shea Eden-trained galloper has had the two career starts, placing in both and bumping into some handy ones in the process. His debut came at Geelong last year and he was runner-up behind Chaseton over the 1125m before resuming at Sale on February 22, settling on the speed before placing 3rd behind Doull. The son of Fighting Sun went 1.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark in that race, which is the second best last start figure behind La Gioao, who is fresh. Improvement to come at his second run back and Teo Nugent on board. He strikes at 17% for the stable, providing a 63% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 6 No. 4 YULARA – ($9)

YULARA can just about make it back to back wins in Race 6, The six-year-old scored at the track and trip back in January goes ok on the fresh side, while three of his four wins have come at the distance. Last year he was thwarted by wet tracks but should get something in the Good range here. Willing to follow up on the son of All Too Hard and he gets the 4kg claim for Makisha Salter.
