Race 9 No. 6 TAHNEE TREASURE – ($2.90) 

The last on the card should work out a treat for #SABlackbookers horse TAHNEE TREASURE. We’re shooting for three-straight wins with this mare since placing her in the black book following a Saturday Review of Gawler Racecourse back in January. Maggie Collett got on board for the first of such wins and gave her mount the run of the race behind the speed at Balaklava. She came away with a convincing win while the second-placed horse Kristobel came out and won in town at her next start. On the same day that Kristobel won, Maggie let the speed go with Marvelous Knight bowling along in front. Tahnee Treasure picked them up inside the furlong to make it look easy over the 1400m here. Rises to 1550m where she should gain a similar run off an even hotter tempo with the likes of Wolfurn engaged.

Race 2 No. 2 SENTIMENTAL FLAME – ($3.40)

There is no speed on paper in the second at Morphettville on Saturday. Would think this opens the door for Jason Holder to roll forward on SENTIMENTAL FLAME. This horse won a good maiden with plenty in hand on debut over 1200 metres at Gawler. He came back to near last in the small field under Dom Tourneur before circling them into the straight. Travis Doudle sent him for a break following that win and Sentimental Flame probably should’ve won again when resuming on Balaklava Cup Day. He did settle behind the pace before striking trouble into the straight and putting in a late dive at the winner. Concern here is the pacifiers going on pre-race suggests the horse may get a little hot if Stubbie either has to restrain him, or give him too much of a dig early.

Race 1 No. 7 SIR AALI – ($13) 

Interesting two-year-old race coming up in the first at Morphettville Parks on Saturday. Some of these horses have impressed in recent jumpouts; the unraced Mesrour from the Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle yard is a powerful type who showed pace during his heat. The Michael Hickmott trained Spotlights has rolled forward while looking well within himself, this horse would appear to have a future in racing. The stable also has another unraced commodity in Dyer who picked up quickly after bungling the start. The horse which caught our attention is SIR AALI who is a homebred trained out of Strathalbyn by Philippe Huserot. Forget his debut run, the jumpout leading into that was very good. Showed pace to sit three wide the speed and went to the line every bit as well as the winner in Kuroyanagi.
