Morphettville Parks Tips 06/04/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 7 JAZZ AFFAIR – ($4.45)

Video watchers will be all over JAZZ AFFAIR for her next race start following her fast-finishing effort when resuming on the Parks track. Jake Toeroek took Jazz Affair back from the wide gate as per her usual style of racing. He did attempt to stay low to the rail while following the luckless My Haruconi into the straight. With no run presenting for that mare, Toeroek elected to switch around the heels of the field while approaching the furlong. Jazz Affair finished full of running to catch the eye of any blackbook punter. Her times and weights have her well in amongst the higher benchmark races that were run over further on the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 3 BOLTED IN – ($4.40)

The three-year-olds didn’t go out hard in the Benchmark 62 at Oakbank which left those out the back at a distinct disadvantage. We covered our reasons for liking the winner Apache Gunship during the preview, and we believe that horse can continue onto bigger and better things. BOLTED IN has come back in the handicap ratings after capturing two wins by racing handy to the speed during his two-year-old campaign. He has been around the mark since and showed a good turn of foot to get home into third behind Apache Gunship. This field ran their last 600m around two lengths quicker than the BM84 won by Second To Nun, while also getting home six lengths faster than the race won by Alpine Eagle. Bolted In is nearing a win while having the scope to go further through the grades.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1 No. 6 MASTER OF ZERPRISE – ($8.60)

Tough older gelding MASTER OF ZERPRISE has proven a source of frustration of late for us here at Racingbase SA. We had our money on Plaisir as our Roughie selection over 2200m at Balaklava. The horse led and seemed to be home and hosed before Stacey Metcalfe urged Master Of Zerprise to get past us late. Similar again as Todd Pannell gave us a peach of a ride aboard Kentucky Nick over this track and distance. Thought our Roughie bet was home before Stacey again proved otherwise when getting her horse’s nose down where it counted. Jacob Opperman broke the race open at the right time as Crimson Vine outstayed her opposition over 2500m with Master Of Zerprise grinding home late. The pair meet again and we’ll be in the corner of Master Of Zerprise this time on the tighter track with a 2kg turn around in the weights.
