BEST BET 🏆
Race 4 No. 6 TAN TAT BEAU – ($4)
The Aaron Bain Racing team had been on fire at Gawler in recent meetings and were well-supported in the marker with TAN TAT BEAU. The gelding was having his second run for the new camp following a close second on resumption. Tracked handy to the speed before hitting the front into the straight under Barend Vorster. They’ve settled down to fight it out with the other horse in the market, Grey River. The latter proved too strong for Tan Tat Beau before going onto an impressive victory in town at his next start. Of the three 1100 metre races run on the day; this maiden recorded the fastest overall time despite having to record the fastest last 600m of the heats to do so.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 5 FIELDS OF ATHENRY – ($6)
We saw a good win from FIELDS OF ATHENRY recently as she tracked the widest without cover over 1000 metres on the Parks track. The mare was always travelling for Sophie Logan who cut the ribbons into the straight. Fields Of Athenry chased down the early leader Sanbuck before denying the late challenge of subsequent dual winner Rich Gina. Pay to forgive last start as she copped a check out of the barriers. Logan perhaps found herself further back than she would have liked. Moved nicely on the turn only to cop another severe check upon entering the straight. Continued on gamely chasing a hot field and has drawn perfectly with a middle gate for Tuesday.

Race 9 No. 4 AKTOLGALI – ($41)
Good to see John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs have the #SABlackbookers horse AKTOLGALI up and racing. We did like his effort when Robert Hickmott trained Aktogali who was racing second-up to the mile last prep. He was racing as a 3yo while looking for further and showing plenty of scope for further improvement. Loved the way he moved from the 600m when the jock perhaps went a little too soon on him. Since pleased on return for the new stable over the unsuitable six-furlong distance in Murray Bridge.
