Morphettville Tips 11/05/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 4 THE STALKER – ($7)

Damian Lane goes onto THE STALKER who continually rates a mention following the reviews from his race days. Settled off the leader before taking over into the straight when breaking his maiden first-up on the Parks track. Poised similar second-up at Oakbank and didn’t look overly comfortable on the uneven surface before finishing just out of the placings. The Stalker then shanghaied out of a wide gate to lead at a fast clip as trainers Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle sent him back to 1000m on the Parks track. He kicked off that fast tempo while fending off the challengers deep in the straight. Episodic eventually claimed him late and The Stalker can find comfortable rhythm while racing out of the chute on Saturday.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 5 SILENT SURRENTE – ($7.50)

We marked SILENT SURRENTE as a horse of interest following a recent review from Morphettville Racecourse. She was racing first-up over 1527 metres in a strong BM90 which was dominated by Chicago Storm. That horse led from start to finish in a gap job while Silent Surrente was still last and a long way off the leader inside the 600m. She found the line strongly to run third and had drawn perfectly for her second-up target race over 1600m. Happy to stick for another as she came through that mile race with a third-placing for us at a good price. Drawn out this week under Jamie Kah who will be looking to slot in for some cover early.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2 No. 2 BOND STREET BEAU – ($11)

May the hot form of Todd Pannell continue on Saturday. Pannell is coming off a treble from last Saturday’s Derby Day meeting and re-joins BOND STREET BEAU in the saddle. Todd found an easy time out in front as he rated Bond Street Beau to score over 1950m third-up. This race carries more depth to it, though is no harder to class. Bond Street Beau ran well in both lead-up runs, including finishing a close second to #SABlackbookers horse Missile Star. The horse will only have stripped fitter since and we can only assume that he hasn’t gone backwards while under the care of Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea.
