BEST BET 🏆
Race 4 No. 6 HAYAI MESU – ($5)
The Clarken-O’Shea trained HAYAI MESU lobbed out the back in fast-run 1100 metre race at Oakbank at her SA Debut for her new stable. She was getting home okay out wider as the field ran home with a solid last 600 metres. Hayai Mesu showed a bit more again when stepping out over 1250 metres here a fortnight ago. She lobbed in the second-half of the field again before Ben Price picked his way through near the fence. Hayai Mesu ran second to the fast-finishing Toast The Deel who has been racing consistently of late. The mares ran good time again with Saturday’s race being a slight step back in grade.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 6 LEFT TURN CLYDE – ($11)
Senior rider Jason Holder will give LEFT TURN CLYDE every chance to show his best first-up at Morphettville Parks on Saturday. The horse led under Holder while being taken on in front when racing first-up over this track and trip last time in. The pair dropped off the early challenger to move clear into the straight before shortening stride inside the last 100 metres. Left Turn Clyde continued bravely to run second before settling handy to the speed and blousing a good field second-up. Likely to be settling off them again with a hot speed drawn inside him. Tuned with a recent trial where He ran third to Sghirripa and Chicago Storm after going down on his nose shortly after the start.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2 No. 5 ZANTHRON – ($10)
With the blinkers on for the first time, ZANTHRON surprised with early speed at Murray Bridge Racecourse on Australia Day. He led at a fast pace over the 1200 metres before moving further clear into the straight. Zanthron was entitled to wilt late while the impressive Apache Discreet bounded past inside the last 100 metres. Zanthron held all else for second and now comes back to 1000 metres off a let-up. Nothing in that race has come out and done anything yet with Saturday’s maiden a clear step-up in class. Zanthron did run time, and hasn’t been far away with his previous race-starts.
