Race 8 No. 4 CHAMBERS BAY – ($5.50) 

The wide gate no doubt played its part in paying a good price for us when CHAMBERS BAY won last start Gawler Racecourse. Jockey Kayla Crowther steered Chambers Bay from gate ten to score along the outside fence. The field did string out for her as Crowther found a position near the tail for Chambers Bay who was racing second-up off a short break. Chambers bay got home for third behind Episodic and The Stalker in a fast-run race over this track and trip with his start prior to the Gawler win. That form should continue to stack up here, and Chambers Bay can finish over them with Crowther smothered up early behind the  speed.

Race 4 No. 3 SIOUX WARRIOR – ($8)

Should expect the Parks course to suit SIOUX WARRIOR as trainer John Macmillan tries his hand in town with the gelding. Bandages coming off of his feet are a good sign as well as Sioux Warrior chases a hat trick of wins. Too sharp for them in a handy maiden over 1050m at Balaklava before finishing strongly under the big weight over 1100m in a CL1 at Gawler last time. Sioux Warrior has always shown to possess city-winning ability, and it’s good to see him putting together now.

Race 5 No. 7 AMMO AMOR – ($8)

Perennial #SABlackbookers horse AMMO AMOR has flagged himself as a horse of interest following the reviews of his past two races. Trainer Kristi Evans had given Ammo Amor two barrier trials between his first and second-up runs. The horse went to the line untested under Rochelle Milnes as early race leader Sir Kingsford streeted his rivals over 1550m on the Parks track. That soft second-up run may have proved detrimental to Ammo Amor who lined up in the Provincial Pathways Final over 1800m at Morphettville on Derby Day. Milnes found herself trapped 3WNC while towing the second-placed runner Enciphering into the race.  Sir Kingsford got the job done again from out in front with Ammo Amor grinding away behind the placegetters.
