BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.8  STORMY WITNESS  ($6.50 with BlueBet)

The Danny Williams-trained STORMY WITNESS is second-up today and in line for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Star Witness filly was fresh off a 10-week break when she broke through for her Maiden win over 1300m at Goulburn. With Robbie Dolan aboard, she took a while to get going but eventually finished best to get there right on the line. Dolan sticks with her today as she steps-up to the mile and from gate six, she maps to settle back in the field again. The extra trip looks ideal now and she will take beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.7  EASTERN GLOW  ($6 with Palmerbet)

Keith Dryden saddles-up EASTERN GLOW here who is yet to miss a top-three finish in six careers starts and looks set to continue that trend today. Last start, the Your Song gelding jumped from gate 12 (of 14) and still proved too good for them in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1500m at Rosehill. Settling mid-field, he ran the fastest final 600m to get there right on the line. Today, he returns to country competition and has Billy Owen back on board who boasts four previous rides for three wins and a runner-up finish. This is a very promising galloper who is well drawn in gate six today and already a winner at the track, he looks set to qualify for the Country Championships Final on April 1 at Randwick.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.16  FORBES  ($7.50 with Palmerbet)

Just one more withdrawal here will see local galloper FORBES gain a start and prove hard to beat in this line-up. Last start, the Capitalist gelding made it a hat-trick of podium finishes when he took home third prize in a Class 2 Plate over 1208m at the Sapphire Coast. Coming from back in the field, he finished strongly to grab that minor prize, beaten just a length on the line. Jeff Penza has the reins today for the second time, after riding the four-year-old to his maiden win, here four starts back. If he secures a start today, he can give this contest a real shake at odds.
