The Canberra-based GETTY sees the Moruya track for the first time today and dropping back in grade, looks a great chance of making his first appearance a winning one. Last start, the Capitalist gelding came off two-straight top-two finishes when he tried to lead all the way, but weakened over the final stages to finish fifth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m on a Soft 6 at Canberra. Today, he steps-up to the 1200m trip for the first time and is joined by Louise Day for her first ride on the three-year-old. Drawn ideally in gate, we could see different race tactics today with the possibility of him taking a sit behind the speed. At his peak after three runs back, he can get the job done today.

Local galloper, FELIX PEREON is in top-shelf form this time in and back on home soil today he will take beating in this contest. Last start, the Ad Valorem gelding made it win number two for this campaign when he clobbered them in a BM58 over 1300m at Goulburn. On a Soft 7 that day, Mathew Cahill rode him a treat as he passed the post three lengths clear of the pack. He is already a winner on his home track and in career-best form, the step-up in class today shouldn’t pose a real drama for him today.

The Aaron Clarke-trained ARTIE BEE is on racetrack fire this time in boasting four wins from his six starts to date and down in grade today looks a super value in this contest. Last start, the Flying Artie gelding came off a win at Cowra when he took on Open company and finished fourth in the 900m sprint at Albury. Apprentice, Jade McKenzie jumps back aboard here after steering the five-year-old to victory twice previously. Back to BM66 grade today, he goes up in weight but after the 3kg claim, looks well treated carrying 59.5kgs. From gate five, he makes his Moruya debut today and looks a real chance at each-way odds.
