The Luke Pepper-trained AHOY is second-up today and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Astern mare resumed off a lengthy 38-week break and having her start for the stable, impressed immediately by breaking through for her maiden win over 1262m at Taree. Ben Looker was having his first ride on the mare and on a Heavy 9 that day, steered the mare to a barrier to box victory on fresh legs. She maps to settle just behind the speed from gate six and fitter for that first-up win, looks set to go again today.
