Race 7 No. 7 SEBRING’S ROSE – ($5.50)

Murray Bridge trainer Garret Lynch produced SEBRING’S ROSE for a handy South Australian debut run at Oakbank last start. Sairyn Fawke allowed the mare to come back to last from their wide gate in a fast run 1400 metre race. He urged her back towards the inside while still being a long way off them on straightening. Sebring’s Rose found the line strongly behind the in form Final Chance who claimed the leader Daveedo near the line. Outside draw suits Sebring’s Rose as Rochelle Milnes can allow the big striding mare room and time to balance on turning. She should take some benefit from that run at Oakbank while this race on Friday looks slightly easier.

Race 4 No. 4 PEWTER – ($8)

Local trainer Sue Murphy often finds sharp improvement in PEWTER from his first-up to second-up runs. He was always out the back over 1200m here first-up on a day where a lot of horses failed to produce their best. Pewter was okay in just holding his margin into the straight. Showed that improvement we were looking for over this track and trip when we were on last start. He got a long way back off a slow tempo before coming as the widest runner into the straight to run third. Pewter tends to hold his form and can figure in the finish again on Friday.

Race 6 No. 4 EMERALD COURT – ($6.25)

Speedy mare EMERALD COURT showed speed in winning two jumpouts as Murray Bridge trainer Heather Lehmann prepared her for return. Emerald Court brought that natural pace to Morphettville Parks as she led a handy Benchmark 64 field into the straight. Emerald Court was outclassed late as My Ruby and Rockstar Meggsy went on to quinella the event. Both of those horses have come out to win in town again since. Lehmann brings Emerald Court back to country grade where she’ll strip fitter for her recent unplaced run during the twilight meeting at Morphettville.
