BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.7 MOVIN’ DENMAN
Local galloper, MOVIN’ DENMAN boasts a strong home-track record and looks well placed here to grab another victory today. Last start, the Denman gelding looked home but felt the pinch over the final 100m and was claimed by one better on the day. He has drawn nicely in gate three today and Christian Reith sticks with him for this assignment. Already a track and distance winner, he can figure in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.2 BOTTLER
Joe Pride saddles-up BOTTLER here who has started his career off well and looks set to go on with it today. Last start the well-bred Vancouver gelding impressed on debut when he charged home to beat all but one to the line in a Wyong Maiden over 1100m. Settling last of the eight runners, he took the turn the widest of all and was just guilty of giving them too much start, beaten a length on the line. Jay Ford was the pilot that day and steers the ship again today. Bred for speed, out of a Flying Spur mare, the extra distance here looks ideal for him now and fitter for that debut run, he can play a major role in the outcome of this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.9 CORPSMAN
The Scott Singleton-trained CORPSMAN is second-up today and only has to overcome the wide draw to be a force in this contest. Last start, the Rubick filly was fresh off a 10-week break when she finished strongly to arrive in time for third prize in a BM58, here over 1200m. She steps-up in distance today and Has Ash Morgan sticking with her for this assignment. She strips fitter here for that last start effort and drops 2kgs as well. The gate is a concern but she gets some relief after early scratchings and is in good hands with Morgan at the helm. She looks a promising type and will give this a real shake.
