Pakenham Tips 2/2/2023

Race 5 No. 3  ROTOKURA – ($1.80)

ROTOKURA gets her chance in Race 5. Short quote but this does look to be a weak Maiden and he was impressive at the track and trip last time when rattling home to fill the exacta behind Alluring Rebel, putting a four length gap on the rest of them. He set a personal best that day and stays at the track and trip, while Blake Shinn takes the ride this time around.

Race 4 No. 6 BOLLYWOOD NIGHTS – ($6.50)

BOLLYWOOD NIGHTS can go on with the job after resuming with a dominant Maiden win at Werribee on February 12. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper settled handy that day before drawing clear in the last 100m from Gold Manuka. That horse has since come out and won at Sale. Bollywood Nights was an improver at her previous second up run and has attracted plenty of support in the early betting, while Patrick Moloney should give the daughter of Sebring a nice time of it from barrier 3. The pair should be tough to beat.

Race 7 No. 2 BEL AIR – ($6.50)

Nice race worth $300,000 and a number of promising types in action. BEL AIR couldn’t quite match it with some of the better gallopers in the CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on February 18 but nice effort all the same to finish within three lengths of Elliptical, who is one of the favoured runners in the Australian Guineas (1600m) on Saturday. Prior to his CS Hayes run he was a winner at the track and trip in Maiden grade, while he was unlucky in the $250,000 Maiden on Magic Millions day back in January at the Gold Coast. Wide barrier a slight concern but the field might string out a bit in the early stages so banking on Ben Melham to find a spot.
