Race 8 No. 1 LIEVORE ($7.60) 

Market in the lead up will be a good guide but willing to back LIEVORE at her first run back from a spell. The five-year-old was solid at her last preparation with a win at Moonee Valley, while she finished runner-up when fresh at Sandown in a BenchMark 70 over the 1600m in what turned out to be a very solid form race. 1400m and this grade suits and she has the early speed to find a spot from the wide gate.

Race 6 No.2 BURJ EMPEROR ($15) 

BURJ EMPEROR can go close at the each-way quote in Race 6. The Charlotte Littlefield-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and did plenty wrong when resuming at Sale before heading to Sandown and running 4th over the 1300m behind Et Tu Brute. She just needs to relax a bit better in the run and the slight step to the 1400m should suit.
