Race 1 No. 2 CREEK- ($2.20) 

CREEK can break the Maiden in the opener at Pakenham. The Godolphin galloper has placed in three of five career starts and settled just worse than midfield at Sandown on April 1 over the 1200m before running on well to finish 3rd behind Icarus. The son of Sidestep has been thereabouts in his career in a number of races where the form has held up. At his most recent start, he went 5.2 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is more than nine lengths better than what any runner in this race has produced. He should be winning. 

BEST VALUE 💰   

Race 8 No. 10 CZARACER- ($12.40) 

Best Value comes up in Race 8 and it is CZARACER that is not without some hope at the each-way quote. The locally trained galloper stepped out for her new trainer on March 31 over the 1000m at Mornington and was unlucky as they cornered before getting out at the 200m and rattling late behind Derelict, placing a narrow 3rd. She produced the fastest last 400m and last 200m in what was an encouraging run. Step up to the 1200m looks like it will suit and the daughter of Russian Revolution ships fitter.
