Pakenham Tips 28/03/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 7 NAKOA- ($1.96)

NAKOA should be hard to beat in Race 7. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper made his debut at Sandown on March 6 over the 1300m and worked home solidly in the second half of the race to place 5th behind Quickster. Form out of that has been red hot with three going on to win at their next start, including Quickster, who claimed a Listed race in Adelaide last weekend. Jamie Kah rides and the pair draw to save ground from barrier 2.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No.2 CAPTAIN ELECTRIC- ($4.85)

CAPTAIN ELECTRIC looks set to pounce at his third career start. The locally trained galloper has stepped out at Bendigo at his past two and enjoyed the step up to the 1600m on March 14 when producing the fastest last 400m en route to filling the exacta behind Make It Sweet. He should be ready to peak third up and will be ridden by Jake Noonan, who provides a 17.2% profit on investment when combining with the stable.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 2 ARTZINO- ($3.90)

ARTZINO is a solid chance in the final race of the evening. Another from the Price/Kent Jnr yard, he resumed with a 5th over the 1500m at Sandown on March 6 in a BenchMark 64, closing off well, despite the lack of early tempo counting against. He was mixing it in some much tougher company than this at his last preparation and was a five length improper on benchmark figures second up when an unlucky 5th at Flemington behind First Immortal over the 2000m. The son of Tarzino will strip fitter and draws perfectly in barrier 4.

MULTI ANCHOR ⚓

Race 1 No. 11 ALMA RISE- ($1.56)

ALMA RISE should be hard to beat in the opener at Pakenham. The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper made her debut at Sandown on March 6 over the 1500m and settled last of the 10 runners before running on strongly to just miss behind Biden Time. She looks to have a bright future and gives every indication that the step up to the 2000m will suit.
