Pakenham Tips 29/02/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 2 BEL AIR- ($2.70)

The feature is the $175,000 VOBIS Gold Bullion and BEL AIR might just have the class to take this out. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained mare has been solid as a rock this summer with some consistent performances in Saturday class racing. She was a winner at Flemington three starts ago and has produced some neat figures at her past two runs when 4th and 3rd over the 1400m at headquarters. I wouldn’t mind seeing Damian Lane settling front half from the inside barrier and if the gaps come at the right time she should be hard to hold out.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 7 VORACIOUS- ($2.30)

VORACIOUS can go close in Race 3 after a debut effort that saw him place 3rd at the track and trip on February 8. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper attracted strong support in the betting that night and hit the lead at the top of the straight before just peaking late. He will strip fitter at this second career start, while the son of Maurice has the early speed to find a spot from the wide draw.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 3 MARBLE ARCH- ($2.45)

Keen on MARBLE ARCH in Race 5. The four-year-old was competitive in stronger races before dropping to BenchMark 70 at Caulfield on February 10 and filling the exacta behind the promising galloper, Another Wil. The Team Hayes-trained mare should be right at her peak and is unbeaten in three goes at Pakenham. Mark Zahra rides.
