Pinjarra Tips 17/01/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 4 MADAME MAGIC – ($3)
The Daniel & Ben Pearce trained mare MADAME MAGIC has been afforded plenty of time to mature into a racehorse. She’s always teased with above average ability, and we did see some of that in her first-up win over this track and distance. Luke Campbell allowed his mount to find her feet by the tail of the field early. He didn’t bustle her as Madame Magic took her time to balance as the widest runner into the straight. The pair overwhelmed their rivals with a sudden burst of speed which allowed Madame Magic to come away over the concluding stages.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 9 No. 5 REAL DANGER – ($5.50)
We black booked Wild Belle out of the Summer Scorcher where she ran a luckless race just behind the placings first-up. Judging by the early market, half the country black booked her as well. She’s trending very short for a horse that we can not definitively say would have beaten the winner Ghost Who Walks. The horse with a strong second-up record and who can improve most out of that race is REAL DANGER. She’s a winner here and can probably push across to either lead or sit one-off the speed without a lot of genuine pace engaged. Market at around $5 gives us that option to take an each-way price while she meets the other’s 1.5 kgs better on Wednesday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 10 No. 4 BRAVE VENTURE – ($6.50)
Good race in the last on a big card at Pinjarra Racecourse on Wednesday. We’re going to move against the early market once again as we search for some value to go home with. Should think that Esprit Garcon is at the bottom of the market right now, though punters will still keep him firmly in the red. Concern about taking the current price is that he is a big horse drawn low and would appreciate some room to move. Don’t mind seeing BRAVE VENTURE draw a middle gate, and Brayden Gaerth could most likely tag the fav during the early stages. Both horses returned with a similar last 600m split on the same day at Ascot with their latest runs. Market of around that $6 mark presents Brave Venture as the value, and we would expect to see him improve second-up over the 1200 metres on Wednesday.
