Race 3: No.4 OLIMBA ($1.80 with Bet Right)

Muswellbrook-based galloper OLIMBA has made a solid start to his racing career and looks the testing material here today. Last start, the Nicconi gelding made his debut as a four-year-old and turned plenty of heads when finishing second (beaten a head) in a 900m Maiden Hcp on his home track. The stable slip the blinkers on him today and with that run behind him now, he will strip fitter today and looks the one to beat.

Race 4: No.1 BANTARKI ($3.25 with BoomBet)

The Tony Ball-trained BANTARKI hasn’t put a foot wrong this time in and looks poised for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Sooboog gelding made it third time lucky when he broke through for his maiden win, here over 1200m. He led from the outset with Grant Buckley in the saddle that day and did it the hard way, jumping from gate 12 in a 14-strong field. He gets a dream draw here in gate three and has Buckley sticking with him. Rock-hard fit after three runs back, he will take catching again today.

Race 6: No.7 WHATYOULOOKINGAT ($6.25 with Picklebet)

Locally-trained by John Sprague, WHATYOULOOKINGAT has improved with each run this time in and now should be ready to win again. Last start, the Wandjina mare improved enough to beat all but one home in a Flying Hcp over 1181m at Grafton. She drew the outside gate (10) that day and took over inside the last 200m but was grabbed late by a swooper. Fitter for three runs back, she boasts three wins and a second placing from seven starts at this track and distance and from gate six today, will take some beating.
