Our form expert provides Randwick tips for today’s horse racing at the Kensington Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.1  DEMITASSE  ($2.75 with BoomBet)

The Scone-based galloper DEMITASSE is in outstanding form this time in and already boasting recent success at Randwick, should prove hard to beat here today. Last start, the Shalaa gelding came off an impressive win here (on the main track) when he went around the Kensington circuit for the first time and beat all but one to the line in a BM72 over the 1400m trip. The three-year-old looks a very promising type, boasting four wins and three minor placings from his nine starts to date as he drops in grade today. He maps to settle mid-field from gate five and with a trouble-free run, he looks the best of the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.6  ANAGAIN  ($5 with bet365)

The Joe Pride-trained ANAGAIN has been all around the money in her four starts this preparation and today gets her chance to bring up and overdue career win number two. We were with her two starts back (where she finished a close-up fourth, beaten half a length, at Warwick Farm). Then last start, the Hinchinbrook mare stepped-up in grade and after racing wide most of the way, did well to finish fifth in the 13-strong field in BM78 company over 1300m at Rosehill. Back to a BM72 today, She will be rock-hard fit after four runs this preparation and has fared well at the barrier, jumping from gate four today. Tyler Schiller steers her around the Kensington track for the first time here and with a clear run to the line, she can give this a real shake today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.8  PINNACE  ($7.50 with Bet Right)

The James Cummings-trained PINNACE is third-up today and fitter for two runs back, looks a major player in this line-up. Last start, the Astern filly showed a ton of improvement when she beat all but one home in a BM70 over 1000m on the Hillside track at Sandown. Since winning her maiden (on debut) at Newcastle, this will be her first look at a Sydney metropolitan track today and from gate 11, maps to settle mid-field with cover. Zac Lloyd steered her to that maiden win and has the reins again. Already a winner when third-up, the Godolphin filly should give us a bold sight at odds today.
