BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.4 FALL FOR CINDY ($3.50 with Picklebet)
John O’Shea saddles-up FALL FOR CINDY here who has given her best in all four starts to date and with a big drop in grade here, looks the one they to beat. Last start, the Sacred Falls filly took her place in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m), here on a Heavy 8 (on the main track) and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth behind The Fortune Teller. The track conditions were her downfall that day, not handling the track as well as the placegetters that day. Brenton Avdulla returns for his second ride on the filly as the stable slap the blinkers on for the first time. She faces much drier conditions here which will suit better and along with the drop in class, she looks set to make amends in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.4 CASUAL CONNECTION ($6 with Neds)
The John Sargent-trained CASUAL CONNECTION has proven to be an ever-consistent galloper boasting seven podium finishes from his 11 starts to date and looks right at home in this contest. Last start, the Complacent gelding faced his first test at the 2400m and passed with flying colours by taking out the BM78 event at Warwick Farm. With Zac Lloyd aboard for the first time, the four-year-old came from back in the field and despite losing a plate in transit, still finished best to take home the major prize that day. He faces similar company here and has Lloyd remaining aboard for this assignment. The stable remove the blinkers here and carrying just a half-kilo more, he should prove hard to hold out again.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.7 LYRICAL LADY ($8 with bet365)
The Kris Lees-trained LYRICAL LADY is in great touch this time in and looks ready to tackle this grade here. Last start, the Internationally-bred filly came off successive runner-up finishes when she went one better by taking out a Class 1/Maiden over 2000m at Hawkesbury. After taking over inside the last 300m, she left the 10-strong field in her wake, going on to win by three lengths on the line. She can only strip fitter here after those three runs and the former English galloper looks in the mix here at odds.
