ANCHOR BET ⚓
Race 7: No.7 MILO MAN ($1.50 with Neds)
He’s skinny with the bagmen already but MILO MAN looks almost unbeatable here today. The Moshe gelding has put together four wins on the trot, seeing him unbeaten since arriving at the Nick Walsh stable at Rockhampton. Transferring from the Dwayne Schmidt stables at Grafton in September last year, the five-year-old hasn’t missed a beat since then and last start, just franked his previous four wins by holding off all challenges and taking out a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1300m. Ryan Wiggins was aboard that day but unable to right at today’s weight, the 2kg claiming apprentice, Tahlia Fenlon is legged aboard for today’s assignment. After the claim, he drops six kgs from that last-start win and carries 2kgs under the limit here with just 52kgs on his back today as he takes on Open company for the first time. Unbeaten in three starts on his new home track, he can keep the winning streak going here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 2: No.1 CHAMELEON CHOICE ($1.95 with Palmerbet)
Brisbane-based rider, Ryan Wiggins, could be in for a big day today as he is legged aboard CHAMLELEON CHOICE here who is unbeaten in four starts this preparation and looks set to go on with it today. Last start, the well-bred Extreme Choice gelding franked his past three victories when facing another Class 3 challenge. With Wiggins aboard that day, he made it looks so easy as he led from barrier to box, crossing the line more than a length ahead of them, and with plenty left in the tank that day as well. This looks no harder and although he draws the outside gate, in the small field (of seven) it shouldn’t play a role here as he has plenty of time to cross and settle on-speed as he does. The picket fence alongside his name is just getting bigger and surely just bad luck beats him here today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.4 PRETTY SLICK ($2 with Palmerbet)
Locally-trained by Ricky Vale, PRETTY SLICK keeps on impressing and yet to miss a top-two finish in three starts, looks well placed here to maintain that record today. Last start, the Astern filly was shooting for an unbeaten hat-trick and looked to have it sewn up when she was grabbed in the final 50m by the $1.65 favourite, leaving her to take home second prize on the day. She ran her last 600m. 2.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort in this field. Ryan Wiggins has been the only jockey to ride this filly and keeps the job for today’s contest. Even fitter here after three runs this campaign, she looks the part in this line-up and will take beating here.
