BEST BET 🏆
Race 10: No.4 CENTRESTONE ($4 with Palmerbet)
Third-up in this contest, the Chris Waller-trained CENTRESTONE is high-flying this time in and looks well placed here to go on with it. Last start, the Hinchinbrook mare came off a first-up win at Eagle Farm when she finished third in a BM75 over 1350m at Doomben. She heads south and sees the Rosehill track for the first time with James McDonald at the helm for this assignment. Already a winner when third-up and jumping from gate two here, she looks a serious player for the major prize.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.2 EXCELLADUS ($4.25 with BoomBet)
Joe Pride saddles-up EXCELLADUS here who has found his mojo again and looks set to make it two-straight in this event. Last start, the So You Think gelding stepped-up in class and surprised a few as he clobbered the BM88 opposition that day. With Sam Clipperton aboard (for his third ride on the five-year-old), he finished over the top of them, crossing the line more than a length clear in the end. He takes on similar company here with Clipperton remaining in charge and from gate four, he can frank that last-start win and repeat the dose here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.5 LYRICAL GANGSTER ($5 with bet365)
The Chris Waller-trained LYRICAL GANGSTER has won two of his past four starts and already a winner at this level, looks set for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Proisir gelding proved too good for a BM78 field, winning the 2000m event at Randwick by a length on the line. This is his first look at the 2400m trip but in career-best form of late and with Kerrin McEvoy sticking with him, he looks a genuine contender for the winner’s cheque here.
