BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 1 BELMIA- ($1.80)

Willing to take the odds-on for BELMIA in Race 4. She represents a bit of class in comparison to these and was unlucky when resuming over the 1300m at Hillside on February 4, finishing 3rd behind Benedetta. That horse looked a star on the weekend, winning well at Flemington and Belmia was taking ground off her last time, producing the fastest last 200m. The daughter of Bel Esprit was impressive at her first campaign, producing a bug run at Listed level at Caulfield over the 1400m before the spell. Second up and with the fitness in the tank, she will take some beating.

Race 1 No. 6 SKYWRITER – ($2.50)

SKYWRITER looks to be the one in the opener of the day at Sandown The Chris Waller-trained galloper has had the two career starts for two runner-up performances. She was a tad green at Sandown at her last start when jumping as a $1.80 favourite when running on behind Triggerific. Banking on some improvement from the daughter of Written Tycoon and looking for Craig Williams to find the run at the right time from the inside barrier.

Race 3 No. 1 EBONY KING – ($2)

EBONY KING should be hard to beat in Race 3. The Grahame Begg-trained galloper looks to have come back in good order and was a first up winner at Lakeside back in January before settling on the speed and just going down late in a tight one behind Gargantuan on February 15. This doesn’t look harder and he has the early speed to find a spot from barrier 9.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 7 No. 13 HOOPS – ($12)

Best Value comes up in Race 7 and it is HOOPS that can go close over the 2100m. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper was 3rd in a BenchMark 64 over the 1600m two starts ago in a race that has produced three winners before stepping up to the 2100m in the Tasmanian Oaks, finishing runner-up behind Soul Choice. She was wide without cover early in that race before sticking on. Distance looks like it suits and she should tuck in nicely from barrier 7 with John Allen to ride.
