BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.12 FULD’S DOUBT
The Rod Northam-trained FULD’S DOUBT is in full-flight this preparation and third-up today, looks the testing material at the weights. Last start, the well-bred Not A Single Doubt filly came off a first-up maiden win on this track, when she had no luck in running when finishing a gallant second in a BM58 over 1000m at Tamworth. She drew wide that day (gate 9 of 10) and was caught three and four deep the entire trip, covering more ground than Bourke & Wills. She still ran home strongly and was beaten a whisker on the line. She should do little to no early work from gate four and have plenty of cover in the run. Reece Jones returns for his third ride on the filly and carrying just 55.5kgs today, she should prove hard to hold out.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.5 PALIKARI
Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott saddle-up PALIKARI here who leaves the barriers for just the second time today and looks well placed here to go one better in this contest. Last start, the Knight Exemplar colt made his racing debut and in horrid conditions, beat all but one home in a 1200m Maiden at Gosford. In driving rain, the three-year-old never gave up and chased the $1.55 favourite (Physical Graffiti) all the way home on a Heavy 9 that day. Amy Mc Lucas steers the ship for the first time as the colt draws nicely in gate four. On top of the ground today the forecast Good 4 track might be just what the Tulloch Lodge galloper needs to produce his best.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5: No.6 AZAYAKA
The Rosehill-based AZAYAKA has been in great touch this time in and ticks the important boxes here that has her in line for another win today. Last start, the well-bred More Than Ready mare came off a Class 1 win at Goulburn when she finished unplaced in a BM64 on a wet track at Wyong. That day, she failed to handle the early speed and was wide most of the way. Back on top of the ground today, Brandon Lerena returns to steer the ship again, after steering the mare to both career wins to date. Placed at her only previous start on this track, she draws ideally in gate three here where she maps to settle in the first half-dozen. At her peak today, she looks right in the mix at good odds.
