Race 4 No. 9 MANA COMBAT – ($2.50)
MANA COMBAT should be hard to beat in Race 4. The progressive type from the Maher/Eustace camp has had the three career runs and showed improvement when stepping up to the 2000m at Kembla Grange on January 21, running on from well back to finish 4th behind Fudai. The 3rd placegetter out of that has since gone on to win. The son of Savabeel went 4.9 lengths slower than standard, which compares well to what this lot have been dishing up of late, while he should have some improvement to come.

Race 7 No. 1 MIDNIGHT CHARM – ($2.70)
MIDNIGHT CHARM gets his chance in Race 7. The Clayton Douglas-trained galloper drops to BenchMark 58 and was solid at the Flemington Rapid Racing meeting when runner-up in a BenchMark 70 behind Red Hot Nicc. The four-year-old settled in the lead that day before going down late in the piece. The son of Charm Spirit carries weight but this is the weakest race he has faced in some time, while he should get the gun run from barrier 3.
