BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.8 WHO ORDERED DAFISH
The Kevin Kemp-trained WHO ORDERED DAFISH is in great touch this time in and looks set for another winning performance today. Last start, the Headwater gelding bounced back from a mishap at Eagle Farm when he clobbered a BM60 field over the mile at Ipswich. With Cejay Graham aboard, he settled two pairs back (on the fence), Graham rode him a treat and after taking over inside the final 100m, he raced away to win by almost three lengths on the line. He is up slightly in grade today but drops in weight and has Graham sticking with him for this assignment. He has four podium finishes from his five starts this preparation and looks set here to notch-up another one today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.17 POLARISING
Listed as the first emergency here, the O’Dea & Hoysted-trained POLARISING has secured a start (after pre-race scratchings) and ticks enough boxes to be interested in her winning chances in this contest. Last start, the Pariah mare came off consecutive top-two finishes when she when she took on city-class company in a set weights Class 1 over 1110m at Doomben. She was prominent throughout (sitting second most of the way) and was still in the hunt passing the 200m mark, but just couldn’t quite match it with the city slickers on the day, finishing a gallant fifth, beaten three lengths on the line. Emily Lang returns for her third ride on the four-year-old today, having finished on the podium in both previous rides. After the claim, the mare comes in nicely at the weights with just 56.5kgs to carry. She won her maiden here three starts back (on a Heavy 10) and from gate three she can give this a real fright today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No.23 READY TO PARDON
If he does run today, the David Vandyke-trained READY TO PARDON will give this contest a real shake today. Last start, the well-bred Better Than Ready gelding came off his maiden win at Ipswich when he wasn’t disgraced, finishing fourth in a harder BM65 against city-class gallopers over 1350m at Doomben. He came from last on the turn that day and matched it with them over the final 100m of the race. He has gained a start after the pre-race scratchings, we just await the notification of a rider. After three runs this time in, he should be at his peak today and draws nicely in gate three where he maps to settle mid-field or better. He should find this contest a little easier and should be charging home again at the finish.
