BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.6 WANDA ROX ($4.40 with Bet Right)
Lindsay Hatch saddles-up the unbeaten WANDA ROX here who looks the best of the day. Last start, the Wandjina mare made it five-straight wins (all on this track) when she destroyed a BM65 field over 1000m. With Olivia Webb in the saddle for the first time, she led from the outset and in the run home, put paid to any possible threats to victory, putting three lengths on them over the line. She steps-up to the 1200m here but has three victories over 1100m on her resume. She is also stepping up in grade but drops in weight, carrying just 55.5kgs after the claim. With a trouble-free run here, she can continue to build on her picket fence in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1: No.1 DEVASTATING ($3.50 with Palmerbet)
The Tony Gollan-trained DEVASTATING is in top-shelf form this time in and looks a serious contender in this contest. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding had James Orman aboard when he failed to pick them up in a Class 3 Plate over 1050m at Doomben, having to settle for third prize that day. He returns to provincial racing here and had Orman in saddle again. He sees the Clifford Park track for the first time but he gets the gun-run from gate one and at his peak after three runs back, he looks the testing material.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 9: No.10 OUR MAGNUS ($6.90 with BoomBet)
Locally-trained by Team Geran, OUR MAGNUS has become a track specialist and fitter for three runs back here, he will take some beating in this event. Last start, the Magnus gelding took on a Smart field in a BM78 Hcp at Eagle Farm where he finished mid-field in the 1400m event with James Orman as the pilot. Returning to his home track here, he draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle just behind the speed. Back to provincial class here, he should be at his peak after those three runs and on home soil again, should prove hard to beat.
