Locally-trained by Pat Webster, ORACOLO is three starts back from a spell and now looks ready to strike. Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding was third-up and did well to grab third prize in a BM60 over 1000m at Dalby. Les Tilley was aboard for his 10th ride on the galloper where he carried 61.5kgs and settled near last of the ten runners. Tilley kept him hard-up against the fence where he made up a ton of ground but couldn’t pick the first two past the post in time. At his peak today, he is already a track and distance winner and boasting wet-track form as well, he looks a prime candidate to take home the bacon in this contest.

Race 7:  No.4  DEMON DELIVERA

Team Geran have DEMON DELIVERA lining up here for his ninth run on his home track and third-up today, looks on target for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Deep Field gelding sat mid-field on the fence, enjoying the trail behind the leading quartet where he remained until the turn. There, he slid off the fence and drew alongside the leader where soon after he took over and hand and heels by Karl Zechner, he raced away to wallop the nine-strong Class 3 field and put almost three lengths on them in the 1300m event. Today, Jai Williams is the new pilot as he brings a 1.5kg claim with him, leaving Karl Zechner to ride the stablemate (Unleash) in this race. Already a two-time winner on his home track, the four-year-old should prove hard to hold out again.

Race 4:  No.4  I AM A MARVEL

Robert Heathcote saddles-up I AM A MARVEL here who is in top-shelf form this time in and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Epaulette gelding was second-up when he went one better than his first-up effort when he cleaned them out by breaking through for his Maiden win over 1100m at Ipswich. With Noel Callow in the saddle, he led from barrier to box to cross the line 1.5 lengths ahead of the field with plenty to spare. Today, he drops back in distance with Callow as the pilot again. Even fitter for two runs back, they couldn’t reel him in over 1100m last start, so one could be forgiven to think, they may struggle just as much over a shorter 870m journey.
