BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.5  PENNART

The Jason Deamer-trained PENNART is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks the best of the day. Last start, the Written By gelding was staring at a hat-trick when he stepped-up in grade and wasn’t disgraced finishing fourth in a BM68 Hcp over 1350m at Wyong. He chased them all the way home and was beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line. Ash Morgan was aboard that day and has the reins again for this assignment. He won his maiden here by four lengths on a Heavy 9 three starts back and at his peak today, he can get the job done.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.4  THE YOUNG YEARS

Local trainer, Terry Evans saddles-up THE YOUNG YEARS here who is third-up and looks ready to rock. The Turn Me Loose mare resumed off a 15-week spell when she broke through for her Maiden win, here on a Heavy 10 over 1200m. After jumping from gate 9 (of 10), she took over on straightening and put a space on the field, going on to win by 2.5 lengths over the line. Last start, she stepped-up to Class 1 company and wasn’t disgraced when taking home third prize on a Heavy 8 at Taree over 1250m. Jamie Innes Jnr is the new pilot today and with conditions to suit and already a winner here, she looks in the mix.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.11  ROBARGE

One for the value-minded punters here is the locally-trained ROBARGE who ticks all the boxes in the contest and looks a tad overs today. Last start, the Highly Recommended mare was third-up and found her mojo when she beat home a 10-strong field in a BM58 for fillies & mares over 1000m at Taree. On a Heavy 8, she led from barrier to box, hanging on by half a length on the line. Jeff Kehoe has been aboard for all three starts this preparation and sticks with her today. Meeting similar company here over the same trip, she carries the same weight and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
