Warrnambool Tips 20/2/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5 No. 3 RICH PARIS- ($2.30)

RICH PARIS should be hard to beat in Race 5. The four-year-old has had just the three career starts and is unbeaten at Warrnambool, taking out her Maiden and aa BenchMark 64 over the 1000m in her two most recent runs. She appeared on February 1 and led all the way over the 1000m to score from Tori’s Dee. The Adam Chambers-trained galloper now gets to the 1200m at her home track and will be hard to get past.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 13 SEVILLANA – ($3.50)

Going with SEVILLANA in Race 3. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper has had just the one career start with that coming over the 1100m here on February 1. She attracted support in the betting and settled handy but just lacked the dash late. Race experience will help and her debut effort saw her go 3.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is better than what any of the raced horses in this have produced.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 4 MAWALLOCK – ($3.60)

MAWALLOCK can make it two wins from as many starts when she steps out in Race 6. The Lindsey Smith-trained filly debuted over the 1100m and is another to come out of the February 1 meeting here. She settled handy and took over with 200m to fo to defeat Hughie by more than a length, going 0.9 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any other horse in this race has produced. She draws barrier 4 and gets the 3kg claim for the apprentice hoop, Lachlan Overall.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 2 No. 9 QUEEN MAEVE – ($16)

QUEEN MAEVE shapes as a value pick in Race 2 at Warrnambool. The Matthew Ellerton filly was last in the Blue Diamond Preview as a two-year-old at her only start last year and returned with a promising performance to run 4th at Kilmore on February 7, beaten just over two lengths by Tanto. The daughter of Fastnet Rock went 3.9 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any runner in this race has produced. This looks no harder and she comes into this with fitness in the tank.
