Race 4 No. 2 CRAFT STAR- ($3)

CRAFT STAR can go close in Race 4. The Andrew Noblet-trained galloper has had just the one career start with that coming back in December of 2022 at Sandown ove the 1200m. The three-year-old settled handy that day and was a tad keen before sticking on for 4th in a race that produced a couple of winners. That form looks ok for this and the son of Starcraft has been well supported in the betting. He draws barrier 4 and will be ridden by Rhys McLeod, who is one from four for the stable.

Race 5 No 3 SABAR ($4.40)

SABAR should be ready to strike at his third run back from a spell. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper was solid when resuming at Geelong when 5th behind Ten Commandments in a race that has produced four winners. At his most recent start, the four-year-old tackled the 1400m at Hamilton on a Heavy deck and stuck on well to fill the exacta behind Dyerville. He drops back down in distance and it is worth noting that his two wins have come over the 1200m. Third up last time he was a six length improver on benchmark figures. Beau Mertens rides and strikes at 24% for the stable, providing a 30% profit on turnover for punters.
