BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.5 CROSS YOUR HEART
The John O’Shea-trained CROSS YOUR HEART has exploded onto the scene with three super efforts to date and looks set for a third-straight victory today. Last start, the well-bred Deep Field filly came off her Maiden win and stepped-up to BM64 company where she made it look easy, taking out that event by a length on the line. Settling one out, one back, Tyler Schiller rode the perfect race as he eased her off heels on the turn and went on with it from there. Today she meets similar company where the stable leg-up Anna Roper as the new pilot and after her 2kg claim, the filly will carry 1.5kgs less than her last-start win. Ideally drawn in gate four, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen again and even fitter after her first three starts, she will take a ton of beating in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.7 CASSIEL
The Team Snowden-trained CASSIEL has his second race start today and looks set to continue with the good work in this contest. Last start, the Irish-sired colt made a big impression on debut when he took out a 1000m Maiden on this track. In preparation for his first race, he trialled four times for three wins and a runner-up finish. Zac Lloyd is the new pilot today and ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle right behind the speed. He looks a promising type with plenty of upside and will give this a real shake today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.5 PENNART
Newcastle trainer, Jason Deamer makes the one-hour trip down the M1 today where he saddles-up PENNART who looks a genuine chance of bringing up the hat-trick here. Last start, the Written By gelding came off a crushing Maiden win at Tuncurry and franked that effort by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Taree. Both victories were won on heavy tracks. He sees Wyong for the first time today where the Soft 6 conditions look ideal for him. Ash Morgan sticks with him and from gate two, he maps to settle just behind the speed. His three starts this preparation have been first class and with a clear run here, he can add another picket to the fence today.
