If Bayliss can slide in one off the fence and keep him relaxed, he gets every chance to be the strongest late.
The danger is Demon Darb, simply because Ron Stewart can make that pattern work and the horse arrives in winning form (6-06714). Over the last 90 days, he’s had 5 runs for a win and another placing. That’s solid, and it tells you he’s racing well enough to absorb a few negatives.

The market problem here is that people will get seduced by the wide-gate “value” runners, but the real edge is simple: Danxia maps to lead or sit right behind it from barrier 1 and keeps winning.
She’s a 4yo with a sharp recent progression (046-11) and her last 90 days reads 2 from 2, average finishing position 1.0. Again, small sample, but it matches what your eyes would expect: she’s not grinding into wins, she’s controlling races. Corey Sutherland hasn’t had much luck strike-rate wise at Doomben in this data set, but gate 1 reduces the need for “luck”. It becomes a decision race, not a traffic race.
Who beats her? Outakandy is the obvious one. He’s drawn 5, comes off 645-13, and Andrew Mallyon is the type who can apply pressure at the right time rather than too early. If Outakandy sits outside Danxia and keeps the screw turned, the favourite has to be tough.
I’ll also mention Bollinger Miss as the knockout. She won last start (5558-1), and she won on her only Doomben run. That’s a data point, not a trend, but it does tell you she handles the place.
